Hayfield in The Snow

Kinder

Today’s Sunday walk was around Hayfield with the local walking group. A mulled wine walk. Little surprised on waking up to snow, but we set off to a rearrange start point. The roads were bad in some places as there been no early traffic out and we hit one bad patch of ice on a downhill bit. It was fun.

So we got to Hayfield and the walk was not going to hard or too much up hill. So we set off from the Hayfield visitor centre car park and headed up towards the campsite at near the quarry car park. By now the snow was thicker and you could see in the distance blue sky, which would make the photos look better. We went up towards Tunstead Clough farm and just below Kinder Low End we turn left to come around the back of the reservoir. Above there’s we had the home made mulled wine, which had a little kick in there.  The snow covered looked great in the snow.

We headed down to the path that would lead upto William Clough but we went up White Brow path to the shooting lodge. Looking back towards Kinder covered in snow in full sun look great. From here we followed the snake path back down into Hatfield where we sampled the local beer in the George. I had Christmas ale, but may be it was not the best day for it. Had a strange taste to it. Maybe we should have gone into the Royal Hotel.

So the walk was only about 6 ½ miles, but it was great day for photos.
