New Year weekend

Little late at writing what we got up to at New Year. Well we were in Grasmere with the walking group staying at the Yha hostel. The weather was not best but we got out on the first day to climb Fairfeild with some fine views.  We encounter a strong cold wind on the top that made us head back down to the warm of the pub.

The next day  we kept low and headed to Ambleside, but we encounter loads of flooded paths and roads. By time we got to Ambleside the feet were very wet from the floods. Another pub to warm up before walking back.  That evening we enjoyed a cracking meal at Tweedies bar in the center of Grasmere.

The next days walk we headed over to Elterwater and did a loop around in the area before returning to Grasmere. Where we enjoyed a cracking singer Pete Lashley in Tweedies bar to let the New Year in.

New Years day saw us doing another run around the Grasmere lake before heading back home.

  1. Very good. I've just caught up with your postings since August, which brought back good memories of our own coast path trips. I'm impressed that you got from Manchester to Brixham without ANY walking! Did you use pogo sticks or something.
Anyway, keep on running.... Who will be the first to a 4 minute kilometre?
